I'm back home in Sheffield for a few days after a month away on tour with Karine Polwart and Spiers & Boden, it was great to see so many of you out at live shows, Helen and I popped to a Salt House show on Thursday too, wow you need to see them live! November see's more touring with Sam Sweeney for me, as well as finishing off Lucy Farrell's new album, some exclusive Hudson Club recording with The Furrow Collective and a new album recording with the brilliant Emily Portman and Rob Harbron, busy busy!
For this month's exclusive we have a brilliant collaboration between Jenny Sturgeon & Grant Anderson, two tracks from them and a couple of live versions of tracks from Jenny's amazing album 'The Living Mountain' as well as accompanying videos.
Friends and music collaborators since secondary school, Jenny and Grant wrote Sycamore and The Walk between their homes of Shetland and Glasgow. Inspired by their local surroundings, a giant sycamore tree in Grant's garden and a walk from Jenny's house. Jenny is out on tour in November with her show 'The Living Mountain' and Grant will be on sound for that tour, grab a ticket and go say hello.
Check out the EP out on bandcamp or in the Hudson Club with the videos as well.
A heads up for you, we are very lucky to have our wonderful friend Lucy Farrell back in the UK this autumn, so whilst she is in Sheffield finishing her album we are going to grab her to do November's Hudson Club exclusive. TBC but we think she'll be doing a little 'cook a long' Zoom stream and then a mini concert whilst whatever she cooks for us bakes! There'll be time for chat whilst she works her culinary magic too. The provisional date for this is 8pm 18th November, we'll record it and upload it to the club as well if you can't make it live in person! I'll confirm details later this coming week.
