We are very happy to kick off April with a new record! Following on from the release of Hannah Read’s highly acclaimed solo album Way Out I’ll Wander and after touring it to sell-out audiences in 2017/18 working with the likes of Kris Drever & Darlingside, Hannah has now joined forces with Edinburgh based musician Michael Starkey to record and release their new album Cross The Rolling Water.

Keep your eyes peeled for the new video premiered this weekend on Folk Radio UK.

Cross The Rolling Water is available on CD and Digital on 3^rd June 2022, with the LP released 12^th August, this will be the first Hudson Records LP pressed here in the UK at a new plant in Middlesbrough. Pre-order your copy today!

On April 9 a beautiful online Spell Songs concert recorded at Birmingham Symphony Hall, inspired by LostWords authors Jackie Morris & Robert Macfarlane will be broadcast to the world. Recorded and mixed by me (Andy) and featuring some of our Hudson artists and friends, this was a really special evening and one online show not to be missed!

We have three Hudson artists coming to our hometown, Sheffield this May. You can catch Sam Sweeney Band at The Drama Studio on Sunday 8th May followed by Hudson Records Presents Jenny Sturgeon’s ’The Living Mountain’ on Saturday 14th May with support from fellow Hudsonite Neil McSweeney.

This month we were very excited to bring an exclusive to our Hudson Club subscribers from the brilliantly talented Ewan MacPherson.
