"These are personal songs that intertwine with mythological landscapes and characters. ‘Turn Again’, inspired by the transformations in the ballad of ‘Tam Lin’, is a song for my son, a frequent shapeshifter. ‘Owl Light’ is about finding solace in the Welsh Owl Goddess Blodeuwedd, and feeling at home in the half-light, despite threats I’ve received whilst out walking alone. ‘Waiting Room’ is a song about miscarriage that imagines fairyland as a kind of feminist utopia where women are not defined by their beauty or fertility. I’m excited to share these demos with you and hope they resonate. Thanks to Andy for recording the songs in his living room, and to Neil McSweeney for adding bass to ‘Turn Again’. “ Emily
