Shamming The Drama is post-folk, post-pop, post-pigeonhole. It’s the sum of all its parts. It’s what happens when you rewrite the recipe, shake the kaleidoscope, and make a record only these four people could make, together.
Birdvox is Sarah Hayes, a founding member of Glasgow’s beloved Admiral Fallow; Inge Thomson, a longtime collaborator with the multi-award-winning songwriter and storyteller Karine Polwart; Jenny Sturgeon, a SAY-nominated solo artist, and singer with alt-folk mainstays Salt House; and Charlotte Printer who’s previously performed with revived Scottish pop icons Altered Images and Loyle Carner-collaborator Joesef.
Produced by Birdvox and Peter Brewis of Prince-favourites Field Music.

Shamming The Drama consists of twelve big-sky songs exploring joy, rage, connection, grief, empowerment, the natural world, and peace for the times we’re in. Political disco; skewed-folk floor fillers; avian electronica; hymns to humanity… the honest and cathartic noise of the multi-tasking artist producers who made this record, equally and collectively. There are no token gestures on this record.
