On 23rd May 2018, the Captain Solitaire EP was released from Michael Malarkey. This EP built effortlessly on the confidence of his songwriting and his openness to bring in new production ideas and instrumentation. Whilst still rooted in Malarkey’s neuvo-Americana poetry, the songs on Captain Solitaire are an expressive showreel of tangled emotions and a reflection on the ambivalence of isolation in the modern world.
