Eliza Carthy & Jon Boden
Eliza Carthy & Jon Boden joined forces in 2023 to release their first duo album together, Glad Christmas Comes, a collection of their favourite traditional and non-trad festive songs.
Eliza Carthy is one of the most recognisable faces in British folk, having received an MBE and multiple awards. Jon Boden, lead singer (and one of the principal arrangers) of Bellowhead, has become the stand out performer of his generation of traditional folk artists.
Glad Christmas Comes was recorded in Sheffield in 2023. It features songs with Waterson: Carthy luminaries Emily Portman & Tim van Eyken, Morris dancing from Ewan Wardrop, Brass from Yorkshire’s own Backstage Brass and was produced by long time collaborator Andy Bell.
Glad Christmas Comes was released on Hudson Records on 24/11/23 digitally, on CD and double LP vinyl.
