The Furrow Collective
As the bleak winter nights draw in, The Furrow Collective bring together a collection of carols to enjoy whilst sheltering from the bitter frost and the howling wind. Eerie story-songs and seasonal carols warm the soul. So huddle round the fire, put your feet up and pour yourself a mug of mulled wine whilst you enjoy these spine-tingling harmonies and festive carols.
These songs came together at a residency at Halsway Manor, the National Centre for Folk Arts in November of 2021. It was the first time The Furrow Collective had been in the same space for over two years. They spent many happy hours browsing their library of folk songs and getting lost in the Quantock Hills. After spending so long apart, they reconnected through singing together and sharing their love of song. Producer Andy Bell joined the band whilst they were in this magical space singing together for the first time in a few years. Inspired by the energy and love in the room, The Furrow Collective recorded these four tracks at Halsway Manor. Having shared them last year with the Hudson Club members it’s time to share the music with the world - four carols to guide you into the festive season. You can hear them on The Furrow Collectives winter tour in London, York, Oxford, Sheffield, New Galloway and Edinburgh (see below for more details).
